We undertake building surveys to help you make informed decisions about your new home purchase. Buying a new home is a stressful process at the best of times and can be made much worse by not being sure about the condition of the property.
All house built before 1985 should have a building survey undertaken prior to you making that purchase decision.
Why? The modern building regulations came into force in 1985. The quality of construction before that year is often suspect.
What type of survey?
With over 30 years of experience, our staff have the expertise to advise on the right type of survey.
There are basically three types:
Level 1 Condition Survey
The very basic survey. The report tells you what is wrong with the property, but gives no further information.
Level 2 Home Buyer's Report Survey
Like a Condition Survey, but gives a ranking of urgency of repairs likely and can also have a valuation of the property included.
Level 3 Building Survey ( sometimes called a structural survey)
The most comprehensive survey. This not only indicates all maintenance and repair issues that a property may have, but explains about the likely timeframe within which maintenance and repair works are required and will also explain why repairs are needed.

We can provide Rebuilding Cost Advice for Insurance purposes based upon the Building Cost Information Service most up to date figures.
